The Current State of BHRPG


Bit of a rant/information dump about the current state of BHRPG(1,2, and 3).

Planning on releasing a bit of a preview of an updated Ser V fight sometime soon(on the YT channel). Got inspired by the changes I made to the Alpha Basher battle. 

Recently, I’ve been mostly working on making the design, lore, and story of BHRPG 1 2 and 3 more connected and coherent, and consequently that means I’ll need to make many changes to what I currently have completed.

Also, the UI of BHRPG2 borrows many assets from the unpolished BHRPG1 UI. This means I’ll need to make some changes to the BHRPG2 UI, as I want it to feel less like a Hypixel Skyblock menu.

Next, finding appropriate and thematically consistent music/making satisfying SFX has taken a good amount of time and effort. A good portion of the lore is inspiried by music, so adding new music often inspires me to make changes the story and lore(I’ve changed SerV’s personality 4 times due to music changes, but I’ve only shown the 1st and 2nd iteration on the YT channel).

Finally, my tendency to make the most abhorrent and convoluted Scratch code has led to dozens and dozens of bugs, potential crashes, soft locks, graphical errors, game breaking exploits, and inconsistent gameplay. I’ve ignored all but the most dangerous bugs, and only recently have I turned my attention to the many(oh god are there a lot)minor bugs that rarely affect gameplay, but make the game feel unpolished. 

If you actually read all of this, thank you, it really means a lot. I put so much effort and time into this passion project, and seeing other people enjoy(and hate) my creations inspires me to keep going and improve. I know that my games aren’t for everyone, but for the very few people that genuinely like them; you are the best. 

For the one close friend that has tested and given feedback on my games; I’m sorry that I destroyed your ears.
